MEDIA RELATIONS - RESIDENTIAL - ASHLAND, OHIO
PROJECT: Ashland, Ohio
SQUARE FOOTAGE: 3,900
DESIGN & PROJECT FEATURES: This is a barn style home that the owners designed with Amish run company, OakBridge Timber Framing (www.oakbridgetimberframing.com). The owners were specifically looking to replicate a barn-like feeling with a house that had an “old-home” persona, but with the comforts of new construction. The heart of the home, including the great room, kitchen and loft is oak timber framed, with straight braces to invoke a more accurate barn feeling.
The great room peaks at 25 feet, with oiled timbers and towering, arched windows. The dining area to the right of the great room easily accommodates 30, and also leads to the screened porch, which is made from reclaimed barn that the homeowners bought and disassembled.
The home features three bedrooms, two and a half baths and an attached two car garage, with a one bedroom guest suite above.
