DESIGN & PROJECT FEATURES: This island home was designed for entertaining family and friends. In 3000 square feet it contains 3 bedrooms each with private bath, a large wraparound loft for the kids, and casual living spaces on the main floor with strong indoor - outdoor relationships. The plan is a square within a square with 4 log posts anchoring the corners of the house and 4 more log posts soaring up through the living room to support the timber frame roof. All of the timber work is exposed and the result is a tent - like feeling of shelter over a flexible and open floor plan.  Additional space for guests is provided in an accessory dwelling unit located above the detached 3 car garage. This home won 2 Northwest Chapter AIA awards in 2008 and is featured in "Timber Homes Living" July-August 2009 issue.
