Achieve sweeping open floor plans, and place rooms and interior walls exactly where you want. When you build with a frame of timber, the building’s weight rests on this strong exterior frame. This is the opposite of the conventional light-frame (“stick”) building method, where exterior and interior walls both provide support to the building. By using an exterior frame of intense durability, the interior of the structure is able to open into gorgeous, open space. Placing the walls inside the structure becomes a question of how rooms will be used, instead of a means to support the building.
More Windows, More Light
The strong shell of the timber frame provides the opportunity to make use of many more windows than in a conventional light-frame building. Windows ornament the spaces between the timbers without interfering with the stability of the frame. This means that a timber framed structure can feature more natural light, which is an advantage in lighting the home and enhancing the view to the outside.

Choose the amount of wood that appears in the interior and exterior of the structure. Unlike log-based buildings such as log homes, drywall can still be hung, allowing for decorations and a warm-wood based appearance to coexist in harmony.
