TFBC Is Gearing Up For Our 2010-2011 Membership Drive: One Member Stronger
The mission of the Business Council is to strengthen the timber framing industry. We do this by actively promoting timber framing as a building system and helping to connect individual member companies with clients. We also offer professional development through seminars, networking and business resources and in addition, the Business Council supports industry research and engineering studies of timber frame construction. TFBC works to promote our members to both the general public and to timber frame companies that need your product, services and support.
This fiscal year (June 2010 to May 2011), our mission is to get you, our membership in front of more consumers who may be considering building a timber frame, via consumer focus groups and monthly newsletters; to increase outreach to architects through our free AIA-CEU programs and to gain more visiblility in the “non-traditional” media.
To that end, TFBC needs your support to increase our market penetration. Our campaign is “One Member Stronger.” Why is this important to you?
Did You Know?
The Timber Framers’ Guild receives hundreds of enquiries from potential clients. However, due to their non-profit status, they are forbidden to pass this information on to you. But they can pass it on to the TFBC.
We actively seek out and forward leads to our members , so why wouldn’t you want to be on the list of the top timber frame pros throughout North America? These types of inquiries happen every day, and if your company is not on our membership list, you may have missed out on a new project. The Guild & Business Council have two unique missions that together fully serve a timber frame company.
TFBC has several ways for the consumer to find our members; a searchable Resource Guide, an alphabetical list of companies, and a form to complete their project wants & needs which is automatically sent to members. TFBC informs the consumer that our list is made up of 100% timber framers who KNOW their business. Are you missing out?
TFBC Membership Is More Affordable Than Ever
TFBC Membership dues have been lowered, and the Board of Directors has removed a distinction between “small” and “regular” company so that the public is not swayed either way by your size. All members are created equal!
Some of our members can give back more to their profession, and are able to pay one flat fee to be known as a Sustaining Member. With the new dues schedule, any member can afford a Sustaining Membership and enjoy a few more benefits as a result. But — if that’s not for you, or not affordable, no worries because the benefits for all members are comprehensive. Click here for details of benefits and dues amounts.
TFBC R.O.I. (What’s In It For You?)
- In fiscal year 2009-2010, TFBC had 296 leads which translates between $1.52 and $5.91 per lead depending on your dues (dues are now based upon net sales).

- Trackable Advertising A TFBC membership is an annual advertisement that costs less than a single ad in most publications and all your leads are trackable to the source. Where else can a small company owner receive as much publicity throughout the year for one low fee?
- Credibility: TFBC provides a resource to consumers looking for qualified professional timber framers. They are not looking for “wannabe” framers — they are looking for the best. TFBC is the only association that lists those companies involved in timber framing. Be a part of the group that supports the art and craft of a beautiful timber frame structure!
